OUR STORY

Cargile Jewelers was established in 1950, by Cliff Cargile. It was one of the first jewelry stores in the community. Cliff came to Oneonta with his previous experience with a background in jewelry making and watchmaking that started his dream. The small store began originally on Main Street as a small business and then moved to its current location with the help of his wife Kathleen. The business was operated as a partnership by Cliff and Kathleen until his passing in 1975. At that time, Kathleen took the reigns and continued the business until her passing in 2009. During that time, John Gooch joined Cargile's in 1991 bringing his expertise in the business field. John carries on the tradition of excellence in customer service and fine-quality products. Currently, owner Trisha Cargile Ganey and John Gooch now carry Cargile's into its 70th year of business.
